GALERIE BESTREGARTS, Frankfurt am Main
The installation GREEN BED is a green oasis of peace on the 14th floor of the gallery BestregArts in the middle of Frankfurt’s banking district.
The visitor may let himself fall here, refresh himself at the source, sink into soft forest soil and fresh leaf green, pause for a while in a dreamlike and yet also real world.
Relax on the smooth floor of the forest and let business behind you…
In the middle of the banking district, where business, stress and rationality are the order of the day, a green oasis lights up, an alpine world of forests and meadows.
Burn out, speed and tough competition are characteristics of our time and many people are reaching their limits; daily newspapers are reporting about it, the wellness market is booming and companies are looking for solutions to prevent their employees from chronic overstrain, because among other things, sick leave causes millions of losses for companies every year.
In silent, magical poetry, Valerie Schaller creates a sphere in which you can escape from everyday life, become still for a while and feel reminded that the inner and outer richness of the world are actually present and available at any moment.
V.S. deals with the whole topic of climate protection, CO2 emissions, protection of resources etc. from the perspective of personal identification, the “connecting” with nature and the sensual access, which is often lost in our modern civilisation; at least in any case – mostly as an “external event” in leisure time, on holiday – i.e. outside the predominantly existing everyday life.
